Meet the Director
Jill Schantz, Director
I feel so fortunate to serve as Interim Director of the Early Childhood Center at Temple Shaaray Tefila.
My husband Alan and our two boys, Hudson and Jadon have been members at Shaaray for five years.
I have over thirty years of diversified education experience as a general and special education classroom teacher, guidance counselor, grief program director, mentor program coordinator, coach and musical director. Whatever role I am in, my mission for children remains the same: to help them develop skills for success including critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity and responsibility.
My past year as Assistant Director of the ECC was filled with joy, love, laughter and learning. The ECC’s philosophy aligns seamlessly with my beliefs of best practices in education. We provide a warm, nurturing, loving and stimulating environment that promotes social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth. Learning takes place through hands on activities and exploration while incorporating a positive Jewish identity.
My goal as Director of the ECC is to work collaboratively with our teachers, families, lay leaders, and rabbis to support our young children as they develop and thrive each day.
Our staff members are hired for their warmth, experience and knowledge of child development. Teacher certifications include masters and bachelors in early childhood education. All staff are trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid.
