The Kabbalah of Emotion: from Slavery to Wisdom
The period between Passover and Shavuot marks not only a movement through time, but a transition from all forms of slavery to true liberation. On Passover we leave Egypt, the narrow place. On Shavuot we receive the gift of our true purpose, we answer the question of the ultimate goal of our lives as free people, self-knowledge, peace and joy. For many people, “counting of the Omer”—these 49 days—provides a time for reflection and growth. In this class we will use the seven “lower” emanations of the Holy to examine our emotional skills, challenges and enslavements. We will discover what our precious tradition teaches us about emotional freedom and true wholeness. Through Torah and the wisdom of the Kabbalistic Rabbis, we will discover ancient keys to modern challenges. We will climb Sinai together!
Please join us for a “counting of the Omer” with Rabbi MJ Newman! We will meet weekly from Passover to Shavuot on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 – 9pm, next session on May 8th. RSVP to Eve.
