Dear Friends,

One of our daily prayers acknowledges God for the “wonders and miracles” that fill our lives. So did I experience one of those “ultimate” wonders this week as my daughter Amanda gave birth to her second child. His name is Jagger Cameron and he is destined to greatly bless our lives.

As I anticipate his Bris and his entry into our Covenant, I am yet again a proud grandfather who realizes that babies refresh our lives and bring profound joy to our hearts. I also realize, as it has been said, that “the littlest feet make the biggest footprints upon our hearts.”

Jagger is beautiful and healthy, and has already brought the ultimate joy to our family. He will be named Yisrael in Hebrew, which means “the one who wrestles with God.” So may he “wrestle” to bring goodness and kindness to our world, and may he grow up to be a man of courage and strength who continues to bring the light of love and kindness to our world.

So for all of us who are blessed with children and grandchildren, let me share a few quotes with you that I just came upon.  Each expresses a great truth to me and I hope to you.
“The most precious jewels you’ll ever have around your neck are the arms of your children.”

“A baby is God’s opinion that the world should go on.”

“A new baby is like the beginning of all things-wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities.”

“While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.”

“The love and sacredness of family: There’s nothing else like it.”

Blessed are Thou O God, who has given us life, sustained us, and enabled us to reach this joyous time.

Shabbat shalom,
