Monday Night Programs 8th Grade This year is all about learning and living Judaism as it relates to your life. The program deals with real life, real people and real issues and we exlpore what it means to be Jewish with our heads, hearts, and hands. We look at parts of Torah through a new, adult lens, we bring Judaism alive through social action programs, and we continue to build community each week. Special programs include a trip to Hebrew Union College's NYC soup kitchen and a weekend retreat at Eisner Camp.
9th Grade - Pre-ConfirmationOur 9th grade program focuses its conversations and experiences on formulating Jewish identity and cultivating a strong sense of Jewish ethics. Students come to better know themselves, their friends, and the world around them so that they become more empowered and engaged in their lives today and tomorrow. 10th Grade - Confirmation Taught by Rabbi David Greenberg, Confirmation intertwines social justice, Israel and modern Judaism. The class includes a 4-day trip to Washington, DC for the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism's L'taken Seminar. With more than 250 Reform Jewish teens from across the country, our students learn and lobby about current social, international and human rights issues. 11th & 12th grade - Post-Confirmation Taught by Rabbi Jason Nevarez, this bi-monthly class provides an opportunity for students to challenge one another as well as share their thoughts about their current Jewish identity and how their insights and knowledge can propel them into college and beyond. Additional Opportunities Mitzvah Corps - Grades 8 - 10 Facilitated by Brad Zicholtz, students will help their community by engaging in once-a-month social action projects such as Habitat for Humanity, homeless shelters and Midnight Run.
